Action aplenty awaits on day 5 of Mr Price Pro
After a thrilling day of action yesterday in which the world’s top wave riders absolutely ripped it up in the men’s round 96, today promises to be much of the same as the women’s round of 12 and the men’s round of 48 commences in what looks to be fine weather and clean, contestable 2-3’ surf.

For the women, it really is crunch time and in each three-surfer heat there promises to be unparalleled action.

International stars Sally Fitzgibbons (Aus), Alana Blanchard (Haw), Jacqueline Silva (Bra), Pauline Ado (Fra) and Lee Ann Curren (Fra) among others will be looking to oust their South African counterparts such as Heather Clark (Port Shepstone), Rosey Hodge (East London) and Stacey Guy (Cape Town) who have all shown glimpses of local magic.

It will be more world class surfers in the line-up to end the day as the likes of Yadin Nicol (Aus), Jeremy Flores (Fra), Sunny Garcia (Haw), Josh Kerr (Aus) and Jihad Khodr (Bra) rip it up along with national heroes Jordy Smith (Umbilo), Davey Weare (Durban North), Travis Logie (Durban) and the East London duo of Greg Emslie and Royden Bryson.

So make your way down to New Pier beach on another beautiful Durban winter’s day, otherwise sit back and catch it all live on the Mr Price Pro website.
Q&A; with Greg Emslie
Team Red surfer Greg Emslie, South Africa’s longest standing ASP World Tour competitor, has earmarked the Mr Price Pro as a vital "stepping stone" in his quest to re-qualify for the Dream Tour. And the 31-year-old East Londoner will undoubtedly be hoping to take a few steps up the podium after finishing third in 2004, the year he finished first on the WQS ratings.
