Young 17 year old Brazilian, Gabriel Mendina has once again shown the world what he is capable of as he took out the ASP PRIME Supersurf Internacional in front of his home Brazilian crowd in powerful 6 foot surf at Praia da Vila, Imbituba, Brazil. Mendina beat Australian powerhouse Tom Whitaker in the man-on-man final with amazing surfing comprising of 2 big aerial moves for a perfect 10-point ride!

The waves were tricky and demanding and although Gabrial is know for his big Aerial Moves, it was the combination of Power turns’ and “airs” in the 6 foot surf that won him the event!

A man that has been off form recently has suddenly come good! Royden Bryson has had a great Brazilian run with a 13th Place finish in the Prime Saquarema Surf Pro International Event in Brazil, and then followed it up in the SuperSurf International Prime event with a 9th place finish! Good going Royden, if he carry’s on like this he should get a 5th in the Prime event in Portugal, a 3rd at the Mr Price Pro Ballito and a 1st at Huntington Beach! Come on Roy!

Speaking of which, the Mr Price Pro is less than a month away and marks the kick off to the to the South African leg of the ASP World Tour.
