Rock the Night Away at the Mr Price Pro Ballito Free Music Concerts

Salt Rock Beach will come alive with the sound of music on July 3 and 4 as some of South Africa’s most celebrated and renowned music acts play to Mr Price Pro Ballito audiences. Festivalgoers will have the chance to revel in two nights of free music concerts with each evening catering to an exciting genre of music.

"The hottest place to be this winter is on the beach under the stars rocking to the Mr Price Pro Ballito Music Concerts. We are gearing up for a stellar line up this year with the likes of Professor, Mafikizolo, Matthew Mole and Gangs of Ballet amongst others, and all brought to you absolutely FREE. Save the date and come join us on the beach at Salt Rock to celebrate the best of South African music," said KwaDukuza municipality events co-ordinator, Collette Bundy.

The Free Music Concerts kick off on Thursday July 3 with a night of Kwaito, Afro pop, hip hop and house. The smooth voice of Durban singer Majozi will officially start the event off at 16h30. The indie folk artist has been enjoying some generous radio airtime after the recent launch of his catchy EP Marvelous Light. As the night progresses hip hop trio Teargas will take to the stage with Afro-pop duo Mafikizolo following. As one of South Africa’s favourite music groups Mafikizolo have won numerous awards throughout their established career and they certainly know how to get the audience jiving. The night will finish off with a bang with Kwatio star Professor and DJ Cndo throwing down some beats.

Jam packed with an impressive line-up Friday July 4 caters to more of a pop, rock and dance theme. The evening will start at 16h00 with indie songwriter Matthew Mole serenading the crowd with his magical electro folk tunes. The one-man band has won hearts across South Africa with his catchy tunes and friendly demeanour. Next up two of South Africa’s best rock bands, Gangs of Ballet and ISO and soulful singer ChianoSky. Gangs of Ballet have been making big waves in the SA music scene with their unique blend of alternative, melodic, anthemic, electronic and dance sounds. Matthew Mole and Gangs of Ballet have experienced a whirlwind rise to the top of SA’s music charts with both acts topping the SA iTunes chart and being nominated for the 2014 South African Music Awards. The night will end off with multi award winning electronic hip hop duo Locinville and other popular SA DJ’s Iscream and the Chocolate Stix and Dino Brave ensuring that the Free Music Concerts will be the perfect place to keep the winter chill away.

With enough tunes to satisfy any music lover the Free Music Concerts looks set to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience proving again why the Mr Price Pro Ballito is the biggest and best beach festival in Africa.

The Free Music Concerts are part of the Mr Price Pro Ballito, a Prime rated ASP surfing event that attracts the world’s surfing elite. This surfing event runs concurrently with a week long beach and lifestyle festival that has a range of fun activities to keep everyone in the family busy. The RedCap Foundation has been chosen as the official Corporate Social Investment Project of the Mr Price Pro Ballito and as an organisation works into South Africa’s youth space.
