Mr Price Pro Trials

Small but perfectly formed

The swell has dropped and the wind has picked up, but the strong offshores are shaping clean and rippable waves in the New Pier bowl. Today``s Mr Price Pro Trials kicked off at 8am, South Africa``s best vying for an entry into the main event. Surfers to watch today include Durbanites Shane Thorne, Matthew Kruger and Dane Logie, all very comfortable and able to perform anywhere on their local turf.

St Francis` Dale Staples, a standout in the Junior event, will be leading the younger charge along with yesterday`s finalist Nicky Godfrey and up and coming Cape Town surfers Jaco Steyn and Michael February.

Stay tuned to the www.mrpricepro.com throughout the day for live news, interviews and heat by heat scores.

An interview with Mr Price Pro Junior winner Klee Strachan

18-year old Klee Strachan took out the Mr Pice Pro Junior in fine form yesterday, catching the most waves in the heat and rising above a strong contingent of our country``s top juniors to claim the R4000 cheque and the honour of being seeded directly into the Round of 144 in the main event later this week. Craig Ritchie caught up with the powerful natural footer for a quick chat after his win.
